Water Main Upgrades Road S-22

Task/Delivery Order #: 0021

Upgrade water main loop and feeder lines to housing area at Patch/Chaffee, including paving at Road S-22 in 3 phases. Phase 1: Wilson Road to Lawton Road; Phase 2 Lawton Road to Schofield Road; Phase 3 Schofield Road to Watson Road. Work consisted of replacement of an existing 6" and 4" water main loop located on road S-22 from Wilson to Watson Road. The existing main shall me abandoned in place and the new C-900 water-main loop shall be placed adjacent to the existing water main loop to a minimum depth to provide a 30 inch cover over new pipe. The existing water-main shall remain in service until all new work is complete and is ready for service tie-ins. The roadway from Wilson to Watson shall be milled and recycled. The base course will then be reinstalled and compacted. Road will then be surfaced with two inches of hot mix asphalt.

State-of-the-art Checkpoint Now Open - Highway 90

Monday afternoon, the U.S. Border Patrol opened a new state-of-the-art checkpoint on Highway 90 near Cline. The new all-weather Border Patrol Checkpoint opened at approximately 1 p.m. This is the first of its kind to be constructed in Del Rio Sector. Located nine miles west of the Uvalde Post Office on U.S. Highway 90, the new facility will provide a much safer working environment for agents by moving vehicle inspection off the busy roadway.
