MAPCO Inc. has been awarded a multi-million dollar contract to perform maintenance, repair and minor construction services for the U.S. Air Force.
MAPCO, Inc. shares the contract with Ray City, Ga.-based Coleman Construction/All Cities Enterprises, both of which will provide the services at Robins Air Force Base in Georgia. The base is the largest industrial complex in the state, employing more than 25,000 civilian, contractor and military members.
The pact is for one base year and four option years. The contract allocates a total of $10 million for the base year and $10 million for each option year for a maximum value of $50 million over the life of the contract.
Each company has already received $500,000.
MAPCO, Inc. was founded in San Antonio in 1991. The company is a general contractor with a network of more than 200 subcontractors to serve a range of construction needs.

State-of-the-art Checkpoint Now Open - Highway 90

Monday afternoon, the U.S. Border Patrol opened a new state-of-the-art checkpoint on Highway 90 near Cline. The new all-weather Border Patrol Checkpoint opened at approximately 1 p.m. This is the first of its kind to be constructed in Del Rio Sector. Located nine miles west of the Uvalde Post Office on U.S. Highway 90, the new facility will provide a much safer working environment for agents by moving vehicle inspection off the busy roadway.
