On Wednesday June 8th the San Antonio MAPCO Titans Battled the Austin Gold Sox for a chance to get into the NBC National Tournament in Wichita, Kansas. The game was a special event at St. Mary’s University’s Historic VJ Keefe Memorial Stadium. The event included free Hot Dogs, Chips and Soda for everyone in attendance. MAPCO employees were on hand to cheer the team on including, Mr. Michael Angelo Padron - MAPCO President and CEO. Everyone was proud to see the MAPCO sponsored team win the game with a score of 3 to 1.
The San Antonio MAPCO Titans team includes premier collegiate players from the Heartland and Lonestar conferences, including Abilene Christian University All Conference and All Region infielder Willie Uechi, University of the Incarnate Word All Conference outfielder Drew Hamilton, and Saint Mary’s University All Conference and All Region outfielder Mike Brzezinski.

State-of-the-art Checkpoint Now Open - Highway 90

Monday afternoon, the U.S. Border Patrol opened a new state-of-the-art checkpoint on Highway 90 near Cline. The new all-weather Border Patrol Checkpoint opened at approximately 1 p.m. This is the first of its kind to be constructed in Del Rio Sector. Located nine miles west of the Uvalde Post Office on U.S. Highway 90, the new facility will provide a much safer working environment for agents by moving vehicle inspection off the busy roadway.
